The tourism department in almost all areas across the world has been growing over the past decades. Ecotourism to be specific has become very popular among tourists. In Kerala, ecotourism can be termed as the most important type of tourism. For this reason, the government has a special directorate that supports this form of tourism. Ecotourism Kerala provides a great opportunity for people to enjoy culture and wildlife and at the same time get to enjoy themselves.

Eco-tourism can be described as an exploration of wildlife sanctuaries while at the same time conserving the environment and improving the lives of the local people. Over the past few years, the number of people who are concerned about the conservation of the environment is increasing significantly and this is the main reason why ecotourism has gained popularity.

For a person to enjoy and fully explore their eco-tourism, certain things must be done. The first thing to do is do a research about Kerala to determine all the eco-tourism opportunities in the place that need to be explored. This is a place known to be the greenest in India yet it has not yet been fully explored. This is why many tourists have continued to grow their interests regarding visiting the place.

Before travelling, one can first contact the tourism department of these destinations to see what they can offer to their visitors. Because this is a popular tourist destination, the government should have the proper facilities that will encourage more visitors to come. There must be a wide variety of eco-tour facilities that will enable the tourists to carry out their daily activities successfully.

After getting to this destination, one must make certain they stop over all the eco-tourism areas. The western region is the most prevalent eco-tourist area. The place is full of a wide biodiversity of wildlife and beautiful natural landscape that may be a perfect place to have delightful adventures. The area also has very many nature reservations that every eco-tourist must visit.

Around 30% of the total land area in Kerala is made of forest. This forest is in the Western Ghat area that has been classified as one of the top 18 area in the world in terms of biodiversity. Aside from the forests, this place has also been labeled as an extraordinary tourist destination because of the backwaters, spice plantations and rambling tea that grow on the mountain gradients. It also has various national parks with a wide variety of wildlife.

Aside from eco-touring this area, one can also have a lot of fun if they tried home staying. This is the act of living with the locals of the area while trying to learn more about their lifestyle and culture. Some of the things that can be learnt is the way they eat the organically grown vegetables and fruits and the very common way of eating on banana leaves.

For people who love eco-touring, Kerala has a wide range of activities that they cannot begin to imagine. Any person who visits the place leaves with a great experience of beauty and tranquility. For this reason, every eco-tourist must make sure the place is on their list of destinations they must visit.
