Visit Old City ST Augustine And Enjoy All Of The History That Surrounds This Area

By Sarah Wilson

For the history enthusiast, a visit to Old City St Augustine along the coast of the state of Florida, will be a unique treat. This place is one that has been around longer than most other cities, on this particular continent.

The town itself is laid out so that there is no car necessary to see quite a number of historical sites on foot. Walking tours are numerous.

Whichever bed and breakfast inn you choose for your stay, will probably be close to several attractions you may wish to visit. Castles, lighthouses, sea shore, too, will be right outside your door. There is one castle that has been featured as a ghostly haunted one in a famous book of believe it or not history. Go ahead and climb the million stairs to the top of a lighthouse. You will be glad you did. There a lot fun things to do. Visit the Fountain of Youth National Park and even sample the water.

There are many places to stay in this historical town, and quite a few visitors choose to stay at a lovely local bed and breakfast inns. You can have a private room (and often bath), and the people running the inn will be more than happy to fill you in on some of the local history.

Staying in a bed and breakfast inn gives you a private room, often with private bathroom, and breakfast with all the other guests each morning before starting out your day of adventure. Along the way in your tours, you will come across a great number of eateries just clamoring for your attention.

Beaches are easily located within walking distance of your accommodations. You could even do a little snorkeling along some of the stretches of shore. Other outdoor activities range from historical tours and canoe and kayak rentals to fishing charters and bike/moped rentals. Old City St Augustine seems to have it all.
