Intercontinental Hotel Nairobi Is Located In The Heart Of The City

By Imani Kimatt

Intercontinental Hotel Nairobi might be the most ideal of the Nairobi hotels if you are planning to go to Kenya on vacation or business. Part of the exclusive Intercontinental chain of hotels, it is located in the heart of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. It overlooks the historically important Kenyatta Mausoleum and the Kenyan Parliament and is a minute's walk from the Kenyatta International Conference Center. It's also just a 15 minutes' drive from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the nation's biggest and busiest.

The hotel's lobby is a sight to witness as it displays a cosmopolitan character with a mix of tourists from different nations. Some of these guests can be seen wearing khaki shorts with binoculars hanging down their necks while some others are clad in three piece suits.

The Intercontinental Nairobi is a seven story hotel with 440 rooms and suites. Each of these has a private bathroom, an electronic safe to keep your property secure, air conditioning, net and satellite TV with international channels such as BBC and CNN. Additionally, each room has a direct dialing phone and voice mail facilities.

As well as the standard features enumerated above, club member rooms are more spacious and the club members are entitled to a dedicated check-in counter, a members' only lounge and a special dine-in buffet.

The hotel conveniences include three restaurants every one of which offers a unique category of culinary pleasures. With local, continental, Italian, Mediterranean and a la carte offerings on the restaurants' menus, you are likely to be spoilt for choice. These restaurants are complemented by snack bars some of which can be found in the lobby.

The Intercontinental Nairobi Hotel also has two heated swimming pools with the smaller one having been purpose-built for children. You can also get yourself a tan by lazing on the recliners. If you maintain an active way of living, a fitness center with state of the art equipment and qualified trainers will keep your energy levels up. If you deserve more pampering than the fitness center provides, be sure to try out the Jacuzzi, Spa, massage center or the Turkish bath.
