By Jony Mozen

Life can get very busy. There are children to raise, bosses to deal with, traffic to contend with, and many other personal responsibilities that eat away at one's own time. So, when the Golden age comes around, seniors should sit down and think things through. This is when they have the opportunity to enjoy all the fruit of their labor. Below, discover the top reasons for retiring in South Florida, which is the ideal place to enjoy life.

Many Americans and Canadians find the sunshine state to be extremely attractive in so many ways. They flock to retire in South Florida mainly because of the weather. It boasts mild winters, and warm summers. It's a far cry from the brutal northern winters many have had to endure for most of their lives. It is loaded with beautiful beaches, whose saltwater is not only fun to swim in, but also important to their health.

With its many sunny days, seniors find their getting their full dose of vitamin D, which is vital to their health and for the ease of absorbing other vitamins. While this may be unknown to some, there are many health risks related to low levels of vitamin D, which can bring on numerous health conditions and chronic illnesses.

This state's numerous retirement communities are world renowned. These are communities that bring seniors together, enabling them to socialize with planned activities, fitness centers, restaurants and more. Many are even set right upon golf courses. With some built close to the Gulf of Mexico, seniors that love the water can also enjoy fishing and sailing without having to travel great distances.

Not everyone flocks to this state to retire in a community, and that's all right. In fact many prefer to live in single-family homes. Thankfully, Florida has lots of affordable options, so this can be attainable for most people who are independent. Although the state is known for its beaches, there are other smaller towns situated inland that appeal to many retirees as well.

One of the greatest reasons why people find South Florida is a popular location to retire is because of its property tax exemptions. Declaring legal residency is easy to do. It only requires a permanent home.

These tax exemptions with regards to property can only exist when the property is the primary residence, and it can be in the tens of thousands of dollars. When seniors do this, they pay less taxes, so their savings will go farther. As such, they don't have to make drastic lifestyle adjustments and they can still enjoy life as it should be.

As for lifestyles, people can complete everything on their bucket list when living in this state, as its loaded with activities and a variety of day trips to keep seniors active year-round. It's no wonder that almost 900 people every day retire here. The government has also put in place the Chamber of Commerce, as well as other bodies that can assist seniors who want to relocate successfully.

One thing is for sure, with so many new retirees arriving each day, a better social life is on the horizon. Plus, it is easier to get out and about and socialize when the weather is favorable. Unfortunately, those in the north tend to be lonely. Statistics prove that seniors who socialize are healthier and live longer, which is something to consider.
