Activities You Must Do While In Encinitas California

By Terry Hunefeld

Encinitas is the quintessential Southern California beach town. Business people and surfers alike are lined up at Juanita's Taco Shop for lunch. The wide sidewalks along the historic Old Highway U.S. 101 in "downtown" is lined with outdoor restaurants. Tourists and kids are seen walking around downtown barefoot, in swim suits while other are waxing down their surfboards for a session at Moonlight Beach.

The rooms and suites at Ann's Inn at Moonlight Beach recall a lovely French Country Inn with private baths, wi-fi & refrigerator. Each morning Ann bakes her guests mouthwatering home-made, warm-from-the-oven pastries with their breakfast - all included in the cost of their stay.

Visitors at the Inn can begin their day at the beach and walk for miles in either direction at sunrise, then return for a delicious, complimentary breakfast. World famous Swami's Beach - made famous by The Beach Boys - is a delightful 15 minute walk south along the sandy beach.

Ann's guests awaken each morning to the sweet sounds of a meditative waterfall. They can drift back to sleep, have an early cup of coffee, or seize the day with a morning walk to Moonlight Beach as the unique beach town of Encinitas awakens.

After their early morning activities, guests return to the Inn and relax with a cup of fresh, hot Starbucks coffee and the morning newspaper in Ann's breakfast sunroom, or enjoy their breakfast outside in the sunshine next to her soothing waterfall.

Each day at sunset often finds guests taking a walk on the beach before dinner. Others simply will relax on the front porch of the Inn sipping a glass of wine while enjoying the evening twilight and watching the goings on in the little town of Encinitas.

Encinitas is blessed with 6 miles of gorgeous beaches - eleven of them. So if you want surfing, swimming, scuba diving, boogie-boarding, sunning, reading a book, jogging, volley-balling or just basking in the serenity of a secluded beach, Encinitas has it all.
