Career In Tree Pruning

By Bill Duggen

Definition of tree pruning. Pruning is a process by which the unwanted branch or other parts of trees are discarded. The main objective of pruning is to develop the growth and maintaining the shape. It is the easiest process to maintain the shape and dimension of a tree.

The time of pruning treePruning and training is an art which is favorable to fix on infantile trees. With the aid of pruning the resistance capacity of trees will increase against any severe damages before maturity. It is not easy to prune older, neglected trees and at the same time it is also expensive. Pruning can be done on mature trees only their dormant state. There is no other way except pruning, if a tree especially young is getting damaged.

Pruning of juvenile tree It is nothing but pruning which is initiated on new trees first year after transplanting Through pruning we can recognize and right glitches with the main framework of the tree within the first few years after planting. The main purpose of lifting lower branches on the stem of the tree so that they can supply nutrition to the tree and at the same time shade to the lower branches.

The scaffold branches are preferable to angle at 45 degrees with the central log. The lateral branches always prefer to originate from widely spaced branches if we compare with closely spaced scaffolds.

Pruning of large tree From the fear of damaging property at the time of storm man of the country moves forward to prune large trees at top level. Topping trees operation should be avoided. The central leader and the main branch of the tree is removed through this practice. So the tree is affected badly.

Thinning operation Thinning is an operation through which a plant can absorb more sunlight as the canopy area gets a chance to open up and permits more sunlight to penetrate. Getting the miniature tree is not its purpose It is nothing but thinning through which the conflict to wind and pressure for the period of deficiencies can be reduced.

During thinning dead, broken, weak or diseased branches are detached. Lastly, you should remove the oversized limbs and intensely grown limbs are removed selectively.

Stop the spreading of tree The main objective of heading back is to decrease the complete volume of a tree. You should remove the top portion when you are working with a well developed lateral branch. It is convenient to select a branch that forms a 45 degree angle with the discarded branches in case of heading back to cross lateral branches.

At the time of working with an upward directed limb it is convenient to accomplish slanting cut so that water cant mount up on the cutting place. If we cut large branches flush with the trunk, it can do any harm of trees. So, we must cut them from the exterior part of the collar.

Care of pruning cuts Untreated cut close quickly when compared to the treated cut. The microbes that inhibit the wood grows well in a sealed wound condition. In some case cambial cell may be killed for wound dressing and the wound remains open year after year if no measures are taken
