"To write or not to write?" --That is not the question. If you are a writer at heart, you are going to write. The questions are: "What?" and "For whom?" If you write with only yourself in mind, you will likely receive rejection letters. You need a different approach, one that is aimed toward a particular audience. If you own a real estate website, you can get a good amount of targeted traffic by writing articles that refer people back to your site. These articles increase your search engine visibility, which, in turn, increases the number of people that will view your advertisement on your website.

Maintain an e-mail newsletter and get sign-ups on your website. An e-mail newsletter will allow you regular access to prospective customers in their e-mail inbox. They don't even have to go to your website for you to reach them with a newsletter. Give them great information and finish with a link to your site; they'll visit.

Pay attention to what is working and what is not. Sometimes certain market ideas will not resonate with readers. Try to tailor new projects to those that have been successful in the past. Recognizing potential gold mines will maximize profits. It is often better to stick with what has already proven to be profitable instead of always trying to reinvent the wheel.

Check and recheck your article for errors. You do not want to have errors of any kind in your article, whether they are due to spelling, grammar, or formatting. If you allow these errors to slip through when you submit, you will lose a lot of credibility with your readers, who will go elsewhere for accuracy.

Create informative, relevant articles. If you write articles that are relevant to your niche, you will be seen as an authority in your industry. You'll be trusted by prospective customers. Another aspect to consider is the originality of your article. The more original your article is, the higher it will rank when someone searches the topic.

Make sure the articles you post on your website are not only fresh and interesting but also well-written. An article that contains grammatical errors and misspellings instantly conveys a sense of incompetence. Proofread your work not once or twice but three times. Use a reliable spellchecker. An attention-grabbing, polished article is one that people are going to want to share.

Use caution when taking the advice of the article writing gurus. Consider that these people earn money by teaching others about article marketing, not through article marketing themselves. This doesn't necessarily mean that everything they say is wrong. Just remember who they are and why they're writing as you read.

Steer clear of using automated content generators when launching article marketing campaigns. While you can get many articles quickly, the quality is likely not going to be great. You may even find that some of these writers don't use good English. Therefore, you should try to write as much as your own content as possible. And remember, the more articles you write, the faster you should become at writing future articles.

Now that you have sorted out the kind of publications for which you will write articles, you are ready for a fresh start. You have an image of the reader for whom you are writing. You may still receive rejection letters, but you should also receive some acceptances.
