Affectionately known as 'Little England' Barbados is a surprisingly diverse island with beautiful beaches, stunning natural beauty and a very warm welcoming culture. If you are looking for cheap Caribbean holidays why not consider Barbados.
Best Beaches in Barbados: With over 70 square miles of beaches to choose from on the beautiful island of Barbados, travellers will have no problem finding the right coastal terrain for their tropical getaway. Beaches abound on this gorgeous vacation destination! The east and north coasts of Barbados face the Atlantic Ocean and because of sea currents and waves are so strong, this area is not recommended for swimming. But the south coast it is just ideal.
Things to do: Barbados is a fun dynamic island with plenty to keep you busy no matter how long you stay. Enjoy the shimmering, crystal clear waters on a pleasure, walk the plank on a pirate voyage or explore the exotic marine life on a snorkeling trip, a submersible or diving expedition.
Accommodation: We highly recommend Accra Beach is one of the nicest beaches along the South Coast of the island. This beach is also known as Rockley Beach and is located in the Rockley area of Christ Church. As if being located on an amazing white sandy beach in Barbados isn't enough, Accra Beach Hotel is in the best location.
Getting around: An ideal alternative is to hire a car once you've reached Barbados, and by doing so you'll have access to the island at your very fingertips. However this could be a bit tricky as there are no renowned car hire companies in Barbados but rather scarce small car hire companies. But you can rely on public transportation.
Weather: Barbados shares the tropical climate of the Caribbean islands, receiving year-round heat, a wet and a dry season. The shelter afforded the west coast by the central mountains does not save it from hurricanes. The Caribbean islands are all susceptible to these tropical cyclones between June and November, as they sit within the Atlantic hurricane belt.
