Discover Egypt

By Tim Martin

You are welcome to Egypt the most populated Arab country throughout The African continent.

Located within the desert, and cut in 2 through south to north by the biggest river in the world: the Nile. Weather in Egypt is going to be unique (especially because of the existence of that river).

On the western part on the Nile can be observed the Libyan Desert, very arid, relatively flat in addition, on the eastern part we will locate the desert of Arabia.

It's the Nile which will help to regulate the extreme conditions climate of that huge desert wherever almost all of Egypt is covered. The vast majority of Egypt's population is actually centered on the fertile banks from the Nile, which will stop its run in a delta of more than 200 km wide in the north of Egypt directly into the Mediterranean Coast.

That Nile Delta will begin to expand by Cairo that is built approximately 150 km from the Mediterranean Sea and represent the maximum fertile and wealthiest area of all Egypt. We identified very well in the satellite photos, the way the Nile Delta deploy itself like a large channel of green contrasting with the light yellowish shade of the desert.

The entire place on the Nile delta as well as the Mediterranean coastline of Egypt is quite a temperate condition because of the maritime effect.

You will not need to take your umbrella in Egypt, as we're inside a part of Saharan desert weather kind. It will have only a pair of seasons: a mild winter from November to April where you can get the little yearly rain. From May to October begins a warm and arid time period.

In the period of April there will be regular times of sirocco, this hot, dry wind through the southeast, and which temperature ranges may rise over 10 C in a couple of hours. The atmosphere is going to take an orange tone, and you will see dust all over the place.

This sirocco may reach velocities over 150 km / h and might be accompanied by several severe thunderstorms. This weather trend won't last more than 50 nights right before the warm arid summer time. If you have got respiratory problems, asthma or young kids stay away from this time of the season.
