How To Survive A Michigan Royal Rangers Winter Camp

By Kenneth Stewart

Sometimes people need to go out as a group to get away from the daily routine which might be a bit boring. When people choose to go on a Michigan Royal Rangers winter camp, they might want to put various measures to ensure that the weather does not affect them health wise and their camping activities. The measures are as follows.

The destination chosen is important. Different areas have different climatic conditions, and research should be conducted to choose the area that suits everyone in the group. While some enjoy extremely cold climates, others like moderate ones. The organizers should consider what is suitable for the majority and since they are young boys, a moderate climate is advisable.

Without the weather forecast so may would go wrong in various parts of the economy. Farmers would plant in the wrong season and end up sowing nothing. Pilots would experiences crashes due to extreme weather among other many things. In this case, the weather will not only help know the most appropriate days to go out but also help you get ready for anything usual that might happen.

The cold season should be dealt with by having warm clothing. There are many diseases associated with extreme cold, and the boys should be taken care of. Since they are not around their parents, it is the work of the organizers to ensure that heavy clothing is packed before they can start their journey. This will reduce the chances of having to visit the hospital for flu treatments after the vacation.

Think of the many equipment that will be of use to you while out there. Things like sleeping bags will be needed at night to make the individuals warmer and more comfortable. Lamps are important too for lighting inside the tents as one cannot light a fire inside. A stove will help a lot especially when you want to melt frozen water in order to get some for drinking.

Something that should never be forgotten in such a season is firewood. People used to going out during the summer are likely to forget this commodity as they always collect it in the woods. This will however not be possible as the firewood in the forest will be dump and cannot light. One should ensure that they carry enough to last them all the days and nights they will be there.

Even without camping, food during the cold season plays a major role in warming the body. A hungry person is inactive and requires something to give them energy for them to perform their daily activities. Teens are known to eat a lot and since they will be the ones forming the larger part of your group you need to carry as much food as possible.

These nights are usually very long compared to other times. Come up with activities to keep you occupied during the night. They may include storytelling, sharing and even debates. If the young boys get bored, they may not want to be part of such a mission again especially if it involves the extreme weather conditions. The activities will also help cheer up their mood.
