Because he was tremendously motivated by Amanda Berry Smith who is a well known African Methodist, he claimed that he received sanctification and begin preaching in several local churches. He had gone through many local and overseas journeys which allow him to preach. Mason was not just exclusive on a particular church, but instead he tried numerous places to hone his experience. He also has a married life. In 1890, he married Alice Saxton who is the daughter of one of his mothers friends. Sadly, Alice disagrees with his Ministerial life leading to divorce. Even if he vowed not to remarry, he still made Lelia Washington his wife a year after Saxton contracted an illness and died. They have seven children and after his second wife death, he married his third and final wife.
By his death in 1961, the group he started slowly spread in numerous areas, including some foreign places. Eventually, the churches and members increase in numbers. In the early 21st century, the group is believed as the largest organization in US.
