Mental Preparation. Along with physical preparedness you also need to manage your mental strength to bring you to the finish line. Carry Energy Bars. Another significant factor is to stock enough chocolate and energy bars to give you the boost of stimulation that you need. Your body needs to get the energy it requires to keep going and you should not compromise your health in this situation to prevent any unlikely situation. This is as good as any protein bar you could get.

Go Slow. The key to achieving the summit is not in how fast you reach the finish line but in the way you handle the trek and the long routes. You should be graceful about it and not over excite yourself in the process. Take it from a pro and go slowly so that your breathing would be even to make sure you will not get winded out.

Hiking is really a physical labor but once you reach the summit you will really feel the exuberance and happiness of success.
