Shipping Military Boots

By Simon Graft

Precisely how heavy are military shoes? If you are looking to ship some large, chunky patrol boots then you've in all probability asked this question. Especially if you need to post them overseas. When your product is pretty large it can result in some quite substantial charges which is not great when you have most probably had to spend quite a bit on the boots to begin with.

I first encountered this issue while I needed to send back a pair of defective shoes to a police force and military services store. Thankfully I still had the box, if not they could have been pretty challenging to pack. They wound up costing me 15 to send back because they had been so large and heavy. I was fortunate as this fee was refunded to me. This is because they were substandard boots and it was not my own fault these were having to be delivered back for the company.

Since that occasion, I have needed to post my brother some Meindl Boots. He's over in the Scottish Highlands with work and he needs his additional pair of boots sent up to him. In this situation as well I most certainly will ensure that I am paid back for that price of mailing them. It is far from my fault that he didn't remember them and wishes them to get posted to his work. On this occasion I made the decision to look at different ways of posting the pair of boots and seeing if there is a more affordable courier service available to me.

I was able to do a bit of searching online and I managed to get a courier service who come and pick-up my package in addition to deliver it directly to his doorway for only 6. Yes, this meant I had to stay at home for a day waiting for them to come to get the parcel from me which was not perfect. But it was a whole lot less costly so it was well worth this modest trouble. It turned out to be an excuse to stay in watching a bit of day time TV! If they hadn't turned up on-time to collect the parcel, I'd have been somewhat irked though.

That simply just goes to show how it is well worth surfing around ahead of purchase. And this goes for more than just postal services. I have also had a further look online at military boots and I am quite astonished that many suppliers choose to provide free postage on this kind of merchandise. Should you go through the descriptions of Meindl shoes, it informs you that a single boot can weigh in at above 700g. Shipping them will not be very cheap will it?
