Panama City Dolphin Tours For Your Family

By Eric Edwards

When people think of a place to visit on their next vacation, quite a few dream of a beach getaway. They long to go to a warm place where the salty ocean air fills their lungs and the blue waters cool them off. This is quite a vacation on its own, but if you really want to go all out, Panama City dolphin tours are available that allow you to interact with dolphins in their natural habitats while making lifelong memories.

In some cases, the dolphins are in a pen near the shore, and you just walk out on a dock and dive in with them. Usually though, you have to take a boat out further into the sea to where they hang out. Your chosen tour company will have the boat and an experienced captain to take you out to where the dolphins congregate, so you get to enjoy a relaxing boat ride before you dive in and start interacting with the animals.

Each boat can accommodate several people, so you and your family may join other guests on the same vessel. However, if you wish to get a private tour, that can be arranged as well. Of course, the private ones will cost more, but you get more interaction time with the dolphins and more space to move around on the boat en route.

The largest boats can take more than a dozen people out at once, sometimes 20 or more. So even if you have a large family or group of people with you, they will likely all fit. If you are a large group, see if there is a discount available. As long as you book all the seats together at the same time, you should qualify is a discount is available.

A tour is a great way for all ages to find something that they will enjoy. Often, families with kids with large age gaps have trouble finding activities everyone likes, but the chance to meet and pet dolphins out in the ocean is irresistible for every age group.

All tour companies only hire experienced people who are knowledgeable about boats and how to stay safe on them. They provide life jackets and will probably insist that younger kids always wear one. You will likely get a crash course in safety, usually during or before the boat ride so when you arrive, you can have fun without any danger.

To get on board, usually all you need is to have your bathing suit and a towel. You will also want some sunscreen, as the sun can be pretty brutal in Florida. Your crew may provide you with water or other drinks, but if not, bring water as well.

The best thing you can do is to call or go online and book your spots as soon as you get the idea. If you are going to be in the area in the summer months, you will be competing with other travelers who may have also booked early. Spring break is also a popular time, so book ahead to guarantee your seats, allowing you to have a fantastic experience your kids will not soon forget.
