There are so many amazing vacation destinations from which to choose that it can be difficult to decide where to go. With selections like beautiful sun laden beaches, fluffy snow covered slopes, thousands of monuments and sites of historical significance, the ever popular amusement parks and more, picking just one may be mind wrenching. Signing up for Machu Picchu and Galapagos tours provides two locations that offer complimentary adventures.

Though completely separate entities, both destinations are incredible to behold and contain an enormous amount of unique history. Purchasing a vacation package from a travel agent that encompasses time at each of these places makes for a great time. Visitors are given a once in a lifetime experience twice within the same trip.

Although both of these destinations are truly incredible, they could not be any less alike. At one, history comes to life and the innovative spirit, engineering genius and societal organization of a past civilization becomes apparent. In the other it is like entering a whole new world with its own climate, unique natural beauty, plenty of hidden treasures and a blend of wildlife seen nowhere else.

The first takes visitors back to the 15th century to see the remains of an ancient Inca city that was practically unseen until it was discovered by an explorer in 1911. The structure sits on an Andean hilltop in the Cusco Region in Peru and looks out over the majestic Urabamba Valley. A set of historical preservation societies care for and preserve its condition and history.

As a wonderful testament to the innovative spirit of the Inca people, the site demonstrates the traditional style of the civilization as well as their knowledge of how to utilize the terrain to their advantage. At the hill's crest sits the temple and other religious buildings, and the residential zone sits just below. Aqueducts transport water to the fields in the lowest areas, letting the natural downward angle of the land.

The second is an amazing grouping of islands that are full of incredible animals who are uniquely adapted to their strange environment, which is unlike any other on the planet. Situated on the equator in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Ecuador, the Archipelago consists of nineteen islands and a multitude of islets, all made almost entirely of volcanic rock. Its location creates a mix of climates with interesting results.

This place is home to some breathtaking sites such as the fabulous rock towers, secluded mangroves, lagoons inland, majestic cliffs, unbelievable lava flows, impressive volcanoes and coastlines that amaze. People enjoy seeking out the caves and old pirate hideouts, as well as scuba diving among the coral reefs while exploring the under water craters filled with marine life. Perhaps the islands are most famous for their unique menagerie which includes ancient giant tortoises, the only sea faring marine iguanas in the world, sea turtles, fur seals, whales, boobies and hundred of other unlikely species.

With this combination of two amazing destinations, the memories are bound to be treasured forever. Each has its share of history, beauty, charm and allure, but they also have unique qualities found nowhere else on Earth. It is almost like taking a double vacation with very different environments.
