The Excitement Of Sailing From Panama To Colombia

By Tracie Knight

A person can be tempted to take a flight rather than sail because it is less expensive, faster and also less tedious. Several people have given their idea of the experience of sailing from panama to Colombia. A number of people do not like the idea that the captains park for some time and spend a lot of time nursing their sea sickness. Other individuals however were in support of the idea. A tourist gave her review of a trip she took and it is written below.

I decided to take a sailing trip as opposed to the flight which may be found to be cheaper. The trip was going to cost me around thrice the amount than if I flew straight to Colombia. However I decided the money was worth it considering the fun experiences I was going to have. At first the trip was estimated to take five full days with three of them spent on the San Ban highland on the Caribbean coast.

During the trip, there were a lot of new things to learn and also new experiences. I learnt about the Darien gap which is found in a province called Darien in panama. This area is undeveloped and very swampy and cannot be easily crossed as easily when on boat as when on foot. Many people therefore prefer to cross the place when on foot.

Over the years, the amount of individuals choosing to travel via water has increased making the prices of tour agents to follow the same suit. The prices range between five hundred and a thousand dollars depending on type of boat used to sail through.

The ownership of the boats is private and captains from all over the world are hired to operate them. The tourists cannot choose the sailor they want when they are travelling. The tourists have a diversity of boats to choose from because many of them are available at the dork in panama. They can also book trips easily through the many travel agencies.

June is usually the best time of the year even though there are trips during the other times but the difference is that the water is usually wavier. People who are on a tight schedule are advised to take flights because the time spent in the sea when taking a sailing trip cannot be accurately stated. The sailors usually just do a rough estimation.

When making this trip, the tourists can pass through Comarca Kuna Yala and San Blas islands where they can have some fun experiences like fishing. Some other things they can do are snorkeling, swimming and experiencing the magnificent view of the turquoise blue water.

This tour is very much recommended for any sightseers who would love to travel and know about Colombia and panama since it is less boring compared to taking a flight. Taking this trip can be seen as being more expensive than a flight but the experiences the tourist gets are worth spending their money on.
