The Important Things To Consider When Beginning Jet Charter Services

By Leslie Griffith

Although flying with ordinary airline companies is very popular, nowadays more people are finding it convenient to charter their own flights. They enjoy a much better service when they fly privately, and they do not have to worry about all the extra costs that airlines are now adding to their prices. Private services are excellent for families or friends flying to one destination, and for business travelers. Due to the above facts, a number of people have begun jet charter services and are securing a good income from their business.

Since that people are now willing to spend money in order to travel safely and privately, the opportunity exists for a good business in this line. If this is your dream, start by deciding who you will be serving. Executives traveling for business purposes are usually considered, as they have the money and the need for your new service. However, you must supply the best jets and facilities to accommodate for their needs.

Perhaps, however, your business will be better serving ordinary people who are looking for other ways of traveling. These people may not need quite such fancy jets and amenities, and may therefore be an easier way to begin. Regardless of the customer type, however, you need plenty of money to start this business. Time is needed in order to find a venture capitalist if you are not significantly wealthy yourself.

You can consider approaching a financial institution for a loan, but a business loan is often not enough to cover the costs of private jets and the salaries of those who need to operate them. This is especially the case if you require enough funds to cover all the expenses. A lot of time and effort will be required to partner with the right person, and you may also have to accept only part ownership in the company because of the financial contributions made by your partner(s).

The purchase of the correct jets is very important, as they are your main equipment. There are various airplane models available, some large and some only designed to accommodate several passengers. It is recommended to buy several sizes, so that you can allocate an adequate size to the number of passengers you are expecting.

Having small and large jets is best, so that your customers are well-served and your expenses are kept to a minimum. The jets you need will depend on the types of customers you intend to serve. They will also depend on your available finances, bearing in mind you also need to hire staff.

Hiring staff who are competent is a big task. It is therefore recommended to get a good human resources manager so that you have some assistance. Keep in mind that anyone working with the maintenance or operation of the jets will need special licenses from the FAA. Other employees are also required, such as accountants and office workers.

When you are ready to serve customers and you have all your jet charter services in order, start advertising. Ensure that you choose suitable promotional campaigns that will reach a large number of prospective clients. Attracting customers may be difficult in the beginning, but those who are pleased with your service will surely start returning for repeat business.
