There is a fly and drive vacation that you can do, if you have at least two weeks and enjoy driving, that will give you the greatest of South Africa. In the center of town you can go to Government Avenue (bring peanuts for the squirrels), the Natural History Museum and the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Sea Point offers a beautiful seafront promenade then Camps Bay has a really elegant beach, dining establishments and cafes. You can also go up Table Mountain making use of the cable-way, or go for outings to the university town of Stellenbosch and to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

When you have finally had your fill of Cape Town, you can do a day trip to Cape Point and then go off towards the Garden Route on the east coast.
