Having a wonderful time wish you were here! I know it sounds corny for me to be sending you the same ole line on this letter but its true! I have truly enjoyed my stay here in Key West Florida, and thought I would write you a note while I'm sitting on this beautiful sandy beach, underneath the palms, basking in the sun. I have seen so many things this trip, I just had to write and tell you! It is so amazing down here.
We got checked into our resort, and thought we would just run out and check this place out! There is so much to see on the island, first stop of course was Duval Street, we did some souvenir shopping, yes we got you something! Then it was off to other sights to see, we found Captain Tony's, Sloppy Joe's, even found Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, and right off Duval Street is Pat Croce's Rum Barrel. We had a late lunch at the Pier House Harborview Cafe, watched some of the charter boats, and schooners coming and going, getting ready for sunset. Speaking of which, we ventured over to Mallory Square, this was an adventure in itself we enjoyed the street performers, how very talented, and got to see "Cat Man" with his trained cats! He really has them trained well, and they listen to him, mine won't even come to me when I call it, it just looks at me, and give me a "meow"! Sunset was breathtakingly beautiful, and we hear that everyone of them is different, we have much to look forward to tomorrow! We were trying to decide what to do tomorrow, and talking about maybe a fishing trip, or maybe we'll go snorkeling, we've seen so many of these fishing charters going out, and catamarans, I think they go out every day. Concierge told us that all we'll have to do is show up, they provide everything, even lunch! We're even thinking about going out on one of those romantic sunset sails. Those are reasonably priced too!
While we are here we are definitely taking in some of these tours they have on the island, and we want to visit the museums, like Mel Fisher's Museum, where you can hold a Gold Bar, and see the other treasures he discovered on the Atocha. We want to go to Hemingway's House, I've got to see those six-toed cats! We've even thought about going to the Lighthouse Museum which is across the street from Hemingway's House. Shall we venture up? Heard it was 88 steps up and 88 steps down, but the view is spectacular! We want to go to the Southernmost House Museum, which is also a guest house. We want to also do the tour from the Old Town Trolley, and learn more about the island. Oh yes, and we want to go to the Key West Butterfly Conservatory over on Duval Street. We heard there was a Historium too, the Ship Wreckers Historium, this is full of the history of the salvaging in Key West where they would yell a hardy "Wreck Ashore!," to bring in the goods, and supplies! We also planning to venture over to Fort Jefferson National Park, the Dry Tortuga's as a day trip.
Oh this place is so beautiful, its so relaxing, there is a nice warm breeze coming off the water today, very peaceful, there are a few sunbathers out today, soaking up the rays. I just noticed something else, aw how, very special, not far from where I'm at, a group of people just walked out to the beach, and here comes the bride in white! What a wonderful idea, a wedding, a beach side wedding! yep, there's the groom, the bridal party, here comes the bride with her escort, what more could you want, a quiet peaceful wedding on the beach, very intimate, and there is the photographer taking photos and the videographer capturing this wonderfully special moment! Its as if they are the only people on earth, with such a magnificent backdrop, blue skies, white sandy beach, getting married on the beach, listening to the sound of the waves lapping the shore! This has truly made this trip to Key West memorable, I'm going to have to tell everyone about this! To be able to combine the wedding and honeymoon in one destination, what a terrific idea! I bet they will go out to one of those really nice restaurants afterward for a celebration dinner! I would think maybe Michael's, or A & B Lobster House, or the Commodore Restaurant, or even Louie's Backyard, and, for dessert, definitely Key Lime Pie!
Now I can truly relax, with the breeze off the water, I'm going to sign off on this letter, roll over and work on my tan, I know I'll drift off to sleep and dream of this wonderful place called paradise, Key West, Florida. I'll end this letter to you today, send you some photos too, so you can see what I've been writing about. Take care and we'll see you again soon!
