There is the type II as well. Others know of the type II vest as the near shore buoyant jacket. It should be useful for the children in inland waters to use this vest. Whenever quick rescue is not a dim possibility, then it is only natural to have the children wear the type II vest. Even when the children are unconscious, they can wear this.

The third one of the vests type is a flotation aid type III. Just like the type II vest, you can actually use this in a calm or inland water. It is comfortable and definitely lightweight compared to the other vests. Even if you use the said vest for an extended period of time, you will not find it uncomfortable.

You should find this information helpful for your purchase. For the style of the said jacket, there will be three options available for you.

Inherent buoyant vest. It should allow you to properly enjoy the neoprene materials or floatable foams in the said vest. You can say that because of the foam the said vest is then very durable. There is also the hybrid type. You can distinguish this from the rest because this has a combination of inflatable chamber and buoyant materials. This is available in child sizes too.
