How many major action stars are there over the age of sixty? I don't know the correct answer to that, but there cannot be too many. One of those actors, however is without a shadow of a doubt, Harrison Ford. I would not consider Harrison Ford to be a "true" action star, in the vein of Sylvester Stallone or Steven Segal, but he has had his chair of adrenaline pumping movies. That is not to say he is limited to these roles, however.

The following movies are my personal top five favorite films starring Harrison Ford.

The first film that I will mention is Blade Runner. This is as good as true science fiction films get. This movie was originally released in 1982 and is considered by many to be one of the better sci-fi movies of all time.

It is impossible to make a list of Harrison Ford movies without giving praise to a Star Wars movie. My favorite Star Wars film is definitely Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. No one could have played Han Solo better than Mr. Ford.

Another franchise that it is nearly impossible to leave out on this list is Indiana Jones. Indiana Jones truly set the precedent for many of the action and adventure movies that are released today. Raiders Of The Lost Ark is my personal favorite.

I would be remiss to not include What Lies Beneath on my list of Harrison Ford's best films. I like to categorize this movie as a suspenseful, psychological thriller/horror. It keeps you guessing. I don't recommend watching this movie alone.

Finally I would like to include Air Force One on this list. This was one of the better action films of the 1990s in my opinion.

Hopefully there are one or more films from Harrison Ford on this list which you have not yet seen, but will now consider.

This movie is based on the true story of mobster Henry Hill and his gang of cronies. Along with Mr De Niro, Joe Pesci and Ray Liotta are stellar in this film.

Another great movie from this incredibly talented actor is The Score. Also starring Edward Norton, in this film Robert De Niro plays a talented jewelry thief nearing the end of his career, but has one more heist he wants to pull off.

If you have never seen Raging Bull, you are missing out big time. This film is simply put, an American classic and may be the role that catapulted Robert De Niro to his current level of stardom. And that was in 1980!

It would pain me to make a list of Robert De Niro films without mentioning The Godfather Part II. It is hard to imagine anyone else bringing the brilliance to Mario Puzo's Vito Corleone the way that De Niro did it. This is arguably one of the greatest films ever made.

One other film that I will mention, which I found incredibly entertaining was Analyze This. Also starring the hilarious Billy Crystal, Robert De Niro plays Paul Viti, an emotional mobster who finds solace in his psychiatrist (played by Crystal), and hilarity ensures.
